Meet Jeff

Jeff Bryant is a Partner at McChrystal Group where he leads business development, operations, and client success for Fortune 500 clients in healthcare, consumer goods, financial services, and other industries.

What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?

Prior to McChrystal Group, in January 2015, I was Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and Execution at ScottsMiracle-Gro (SMG). In this role, I was responsible for working collaboratively with SMG’s Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors to define and align on enterprise strategy. This responsibility included managing the Six Quarter Planning Process for the Chief Operating Officer to ensure that SMG’s strategic imperatives had robust, resilient plans along with appropriate levels of funding and human resource deployment to maximize growth.

In 2011, I partnered with the McChrystal Group and led SMG’s Team of Teams enterprise operating model implementation to enhance organizational effectiveness by tightly linking enterprise strategy and business execution. My responsibility included managing the Analytic Center of Excellence and running the Team of Teams operating model.

My career at SMG spanned 13 years and also included Strategy Leadership positions in Business Operations, Marketing, Global Technology & Operations, and Global Supply Chain.

Prior to joining SMG, I was a Senior Manager at Accenture where I focused on business transformation and systems integration. Before Accenture, I worked as a Manager for Ernst & Young Management Consulting and specialized in supply chain optimization.

Early in my career, I worked for Black & Decker and Energizer in supply chain management and leadership roles.

Why did you join McChrystal Group?

After partnering with McChrystal Group to design, develop, implement, and run the Team of Teams enterprise operating model at SMG, I was passionate about joining McChrystal Group’s diverse mix of professionals from the military, academic, business, and intelligence sectors to help transform underperforming, siloed organizations into cohesive, adaptable Teams of Teams.

What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?

My proudest moments at McChrystal Group have been in forging deep client partnerships that have helped organizations develop team-based cultures of winning together and deliver billions of dollars in measurable value creation.

Why are you passionate about leaders & teams?

I believe that leadership is about building a system of leaders who are capable of adjusting their leadership approach based on the context and empower their followers to thrive as a cohesive team. Great leaders inspire, develop, support, and reward followers who work together as an integrated team to accomplish a common mission with overarching, shared objectives.
