What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?
Before joining McChrystal Group, I held professional roles in corporate financial restructuring, private equity, and energy consulting, to include a fellowship with the Environmental Defense Fund. I transitioned from the United States Marine Corps in 2017, after spending five years leading Marines and working in joint service environments. As a Marine, I advised several foreign militaries in developing more effective operational procedures. I also served as a unit commander, responsible for training and employment, of units varying in size from 50 to 300 personnel.
Why did you join McChrystal Group?
The people. McChrystal Group employees offer a depth and breadth of experiences that collaborate into a diverse group of thought leaders in corporate environments, governments, and public entities. It is truly a pleasure to work with every one of them.
What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?
Partnering with a city in West Texas to lead collaboration among elected officials, community leaders, and stakeholders to drive solutions and accelerate resourcing for their growing community. The opportunity for discussion and collaboration that the team creates through a Team of Teams approach represents the communities commitment to work together to meet the city’s challenges head-on and ensure that the city is ready for the future.
What sport or hobby do you have outside of work?
I practice Jiu Jitsu outside of work. I started about a year ago as a way to stay in shape and fell in love with the sport. The sport means ‘gentle art’ and I love that about the sport. Practicing Jiu Jitsu is like physical chess.
