What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?

Prior to joining McChrystal Group, I worked in Deloitte’s Federal Practice for over 13 years. In my final role, I was a Human Capital Senior Manager leading teams that provided strategic communications and change management support to the Department of Defense clients undergoing large organizational changes. Prior to that role, I enabled the learning and development of Deloitte professionals as a Talent Development Manager. I started my career with Deloitte in the Risk Advisory function, first conducting and eventually managing organization-wide risk assessments and internal control implementations for Federal clients.

Why did you join McChrystal Group?

I came to McChrystal Group so I could work with incredibly smart, talented, energetic, motivated people from a variety of backgrounds, who all share a deep appreciation for the importance of leadership and teamwork, and to have the opportunity to help clients make key changes in their business.

What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?

Client stakeholders "in the field" telling us they were skeptical of proposed communication solutions at first but they now believe we're helping their organization transform because they've experienced the value of those solutions.

What are your favorite books (besides Team of Teams!)?

I have so many favorite books, but I’ll list the first few that come to mind:

  • All of Brene Brown’s books;
  • All of Bob Goff’s books;
  • Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans; and
  • Creativity, Inc. by Ed Catmull and Amy Wallace
